Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, HNBGU, Applications on prescribed form are invited from exceptionally qualified candidates for the faculty positions in the following Departments of the University :

1. Assistant Professor :
No of post : 32 posts, Forestry (OBC-1), HAPPRC (OBC-1*), English(SC-1, OBC-1(PH), Hindi(OBC-1, ST-2),Commerce (OBC-1, SC-1), Defence & Strategic Studies (OBC-1, SC-1*),Geography (SC-1), Education (SC-3, OBC-4 (PH-1), ST-2), Computer Science (OBC-1), Economics (SC-1, OBC-1(PH), History & Archeology (ST-1), Philosophy (ST-1), Bio-Technology (OBC-1), Environmental Science (OBC-1), Tourism & Hospitality Studies (ST-1), Chemistry (SC-1), Mathematics (OBC-1), Physics (OBC-1).
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100 AGP Rs. 6000/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : 1) Good academic record as defined by the concerned university w ith at least 55%marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. 2) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
Age Limit : Candidates age limit applicable as stipulated by the MHRD/UGC regulations from time to time.

2. Associate Professor :
No of post : 14 posts, Forestry (UR-1), HAPPRC (ST-1), Hindi (ST-1), Commerce (SC-1), Defence & Strategic Studies (UR-1, SC-1), Education (UR-1), Anthropology (SC-1), Political Science (ST-1), Sociology (UR-1), Law (UR-2), Zoology (UR-1), Physics (SC-1).
Scale of Pay : Rs. 37400 to 67000  AGP Rs. 9000/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : 1. Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines. 2. A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed). 3. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College.
Age Limit : Candidates age limit applicable as stipulated by the MHRD/UGC regulations from time to time.

3. Professor :
No of post : 11 posts, Commerce (UR-1), Geography (UR-1), Geology (UR-1), Education (UR-1), Anthropology (SC-1), Economics (ST-1), History & Archeology (SC-1, UR-1), Botany (SC-1*), Zoology (UR-1), Physics (UR-1).
Scale of Pay : Rs. 37400 to 67000 AGP Rs. 10000/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : i) Ph.D. qualification (s) in the concerned / allied / relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of publis hed work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers. ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college, and/or experience in research at the University/National level institutions/industries, including experi ence of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.
