Indian Institute of Space Science & Technology, IIST, is Asia’s first Space Institute and the first in the world to offer the complete range of undergraduate, post graduate, doctoral programmes with specific focus to space science, technology and applications. This unique concept was suggested by the honourable Prime Minister, and took root in January 2007, when IIST was registered as a Society. IIST received the approval of the Union Cabinet on 26 April, 2007 and it was formally inaugurated on 14 September 2007 by Dr. G. Madhavan Nair. In a little less than a year of its establishment, IIST received the recognition of UGC as a Deemed to. IIST invites applications for regular post of Assistant Professor and Reader (on contract basis) :
 
A. Assistant Professor : in Earh and Space Sciences.
No of Post : 01 post, 
Scale of Pay :  Pay Band PB-3 Rs. 15600 to 39100/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 7600/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : 1. B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation with First Class. 2. M.Tech in First Class Division in the relevant area. 3. PhD in relevant area.
Age Limit : Not to exceed 40 years as on 01.10.2010.

B. Reader : in Mathematics.
No of Post : 01 post, 
Scale of Pay : with Consolidated amount of Rs. 40000/-per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : 1. B.Sc in Mathematics with First class. 2. M.Sc in Mathematics with First class. 3. Ph.D in Mathematics.
Age Limit : Not to exceed 45 years as on 01.10.2010.
