National Institute of Technology, NIT, Institute of National Importance established under the NIT Act, 2007 invites applications from Indian Nationals, possessing consistently good academic background, with commitment to quality teaching and potential for carrying out outstanding research, for faculty positions at the level of Professor, Assistant Professor and Lecturer in the following Departments of the Institute. The appointment to the positions of Professor and Assistant Professor will be in the regular cadre.

Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Centre, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Humanities & Social Sciences (Economics / English), Information Technology, Mathematics, Management Studies, Master of Computer Application, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Physics.

A. Professor :
No of Post : 18 posts,
Pay Scale : Pay Band (PB-4) Rs. 37400 to 67000 with AGP Rs. 10000/-,
B. Associate Professor :
No of Post : 26 posts,
Pay Scale : PB-4 Rs. 37400 to 67000 with AGP Rs. 9000/-,
C. Assistant Professor :
No of Post : 35 posts,
Pay Scale : PB-3 Rs. 15600 to 39100 with AGP Rs.6000/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience for all : Candidates applying for the position of Lecturer and having a PhD degree will be considered for appointment in the regular cadre and candidates with M. Tech degree, but without PhD will be on contract for a maximum period of 5 years renewable on year to year basis evaluation or till the candidate aquires a PhD degree whichever is earlier. The contract will be renewable every year on the condition of satisfactory progress of PhD work, good conduct and good performance in teaching, and emphasis on research and project work. The candidate must possess an earned Ph.D degree for being considered for a regular faculty position at any level in the Institute. Having requisite experience at the level of Lecturer with proven track record of conducting quality research work, coordinating projects and organizing sponsored conferences / seminars / workshops makes a candidate eligible for applying for a position of Assistant Professor. Minimum requirement for being considered.
