National Institute of Technology, NIT, advertisement NO. 3/09 dtd. 27-4-09 have been changed. New criterion, designations and pay-structures are given below. Candidates who applied earlier against our said advertisement are requested to note the revised requirements etc and forward their updated profile, if any, positively by 15-3-10 through e-mail to registrar@nits.ac.in followed by a hard copy. Revised designation and criterions as mentioned below shall be applicable in lieu of earlier ones mentioned in the aforesaid advt. Therefore, applications received against earlier advt dtd. 27-4-09 shall be considered in the light of new criterions and profiles already received and now updated, Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the following positions :

Following positions :
Professor/ Assistant Professor/ Lecturer in Computer Science & Engg, Electrical Engg., Electronics & Telecomm Engg., Mechanical Engg., Civil Engg., Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Humanities & Social Science.
No of Post : 04 posts, (Scheduled Caste-01, Scheduled Tribe-03, PWD Orthopedically handicapped-01)

i. Professor :
Essential Qualification & Experience : PhD with 1st class at Bachelor and Master degrees in appropriate disciplines. Candidates from industry/profession: 1st class Master degree in appropriate disciplines. Must have 10 years in teaching/industry/research out of which 4 years shall be at the level of Assistant Professor (old)/ Associate Professor or equivalent, excluding the period spent for obtaining PhD degree.
Professor : Pay Band of Rs. 37,400-67,000/- (PB-4) with AGP Rs. 10,000/-,

ii. Assistant Professor :
Essential Qualification & Experience : Master degree with 1st class at Bachelor and Master degrees in the appropriate disciplines.
Assistant Professor : Pay Band of Rs. 15,600-39,100/- (PB-3) with AGP Rs. 6,000/-

iii. Associate Professor :
Essential Qualification & Experience : PhD with 1st class at Bachelor and Master degrees in appropriate disciplines. Candidates from industry/profession: 1st class at Bachelor and Master degrees in appropriate disciplines. Must have 5 years in teaching/industry/research at the level of
Lecturer/ Assistant Professor or equivalent, excluding the period spent for obtaining PhD degrees.
Associate Professor : Pay Band of Rs. 37,400-67,000/- (PB-4) with AGP Rs. 9,000/-

iv. Lecturer :
Essential Qualification & Experience : First Class Master’s Degree in the recognized university.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100 grade pay Rs. 6000/-,
