Jawaharlal Nehru University, JNU, has openings for faculty positions at the level of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor for its various Schools/ Centres and Special Centres in various areas of specialization as per the qualification of the UGC Regulations :

1. Chair Professor :
No of post : 01 Post on contract basis.
Age Limit : As per UGC norms.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 37400 to 6700/- AGP Rs. 10000/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : An eminent scholar with a doctoral degree in the concerned / allied / relevant discipline and published work of high quality, and actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of ten publications as books and / or research / policy papers. A minimum of ten years experience in teaching at University / College Level, and/or research at a University / National level institution.

2. Professor :
No of post : 25 posts in various subjects.
Age Limit : As per UGC norms.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 37400 to 6700/- AGP Rs. 10000/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : An eminent scholar with a doctoral degree in the concerned / allied / relevant discipline and published work of high quality, and actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of ten publications as books and / or research / policy papers. A minimum of ten years experience in teaching at University / College Level, and/or research at a University / National level institution.

3. Associate Professor :
No of post : 31 posts in various subjects.
Age Limit : As per UGC norms.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 37400 to 6700/- AGP Rs. 9000/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : Good academic record with doctoral degree in concerned or allied/relevant discipline. A Masters degree with at least 55% of marks.

4. Assistant Professor :
No of post : 19 posts in various subjects
Age Limit : As per UGC norms.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100/- Plus Grade Pay Rs. 6000/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : Good academic record with at least 55% marks or, an equivalent grade. Master’s Degree level, in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from accredited foreign University.

Fees/Application Fee:
Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- in case of General and OBC category payable on any nationalized bank in favour of the Finance Officer, Jawaharlal Nehru University payable at New Delhi. There is no application fee for SC/ST/PH candidates.
