Assam University, AU, Applications are invited from Indian nationals possessing requisite qualification eligibility, stipulated by the UGC/AICTE for filling up the following Teaching & Non Teaching positions at headquarter Silchar and Diphu Campus with UGC pay scale in the University.
 
Faculty specialization Teaching Positions:
A. Professor : No of Post : 06 posts in various subjects
B. Reader : No of Post : 05 posts in various subjects
C. Assistant Professor : No of Post : 16 posts in various subjects

Non-Teaching Positions (Technical & Non Technical) :
1. Deputy Registrar :
No of Post : 02 posts,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Masters degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale. Five years experience as Lecturer in a college or a University with experience in educational administration.
Age Limit : As on 13.07.2010 not above the age limit for direct recruitment under Group A category of GOI.

2. Networking Engineer :
No of Post : 01 post,
Essential Qualification & Experience : BE / B.Tech / in Computer science & Engineering / Telecom Engineering / Information Technology with at least 50% of the marks in the qualifying examination. Preference will be given to candidates having higher qualification & working experience in higher educational institutions of repute or industry.
Age Limit : Not above 40 years as on 13.07.2010.

3. Senior Technical Assistant :
No of Post : 01 post,
Essential Qualification & Experience : BE/ B.Tech (Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation) Or M.Sc (Instrumentation / Electronics) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and relevant experience of two years in higher educational institute.
Age Limit : Not above 40 years as on 13.07.2010.

4. Technical Assistant :
No of Post : 01 post,
Essential Qualification & Experience : BE/ B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering / Food Technology) M.Sc (Agriculture / Soil Technology) / M.V.Sc with 50% in qualifying examination.
Age Limit : Not above 28 years as on 13.07.2010.

5. Laboratory Assistant :
No of Post : 01 post,
Essential Qualification & Experience : B.Sc (Agricultural Engineering / Food Technology / Agri Science / Diary / Fishery / Soil Science with 50% marks in the qualifying examination Or 3 years Diploma in Food Technology / Diary / Fishery / Soil Science Or 3 years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with at least one year experience in the relevant field / Mechanical Engineering.
Age Limit : Not above 28 years as on 13.07.2010.

6. Library Attendant :
No of Post : 02 posts,
Essential Qualification & Experience : HSLC with certificate course in Library Science & Knowledge of Computer.
Age Limit : Not above 28 years as on 13.07.2010.

7. Carpenter :
No of Post : 01 post,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Pass Certificate course from Govt. recognized ITI in concerned trade Or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Age Limit : Not above 28 years as on 13.07.2010.
