Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, The Centre for Public Policy (CPP), Bangalore is working with the Rural Development Department, Government of Bihar to develop exploratory alternative institutional models for delivering some of its programs such as the NREGS and the SGSY. Apart from developing these models, The goal is to set in place a public service delivery mechanism that is easier and more scalable to operate for the “citizen-client-beneficiary”. As a part of this work we are looking to hire people at two levels: The Academic Insternship Program (AIP) at IIMB provides an opportunity to gain teaching and research skills by working closely with the faculty.

Project Coordinator (CPP-RDD-PC):  Interested individuals with 10 years of experience with post-graduate training as well as with excellent communication skills are requested to apply. People working directly with government or government bodies are clearly desired. Three domains in which the person should have had experience in are , a) independently formulating domains for research, b) overseeing change orientation workshops and c) project administration with the ability to oversee and carry out survey and time-in-motion studies. Those with experience working in Bihar and with the ability to stay in Patna, Bihar for extended periods of time would be preferred at the margin.
Indicative Salary: Rs. 30,000 per month with possibility of adjustment based on profile. The position is for a year, with potential for extension.
Research Associate (CPP-RDD-RA): Interested individuals with approximately 2-5 years of experience with excellent communications skills in both Hindi and English are requested to apply. The individual should be able to travel widely within Bihar, work in collaboration with the CPP-IIMB team as well as members of the Action Advisory Group to ensure documents, administrative data, and other information regarding functioning of government programs are gathered. Experience with functioning of government programs in Bihar, particularly in the domain of poverty reduction would be helpful.
Indicative Salary: Rs. 15,000 per month with possibility of adjustment based on profile. The position is for nine months, with potential for extension. The position is based out of Patna, Bihar and requires extensive travel within Bihar.

Qualification & experience: Minimum of a Masters degree in management, social sciences, engineering or other relevant discipline. Bachelor degree holders in engineering with at least 2 years of work experience will be consiedred too.
