India Meteorological Department, IMD, invites applications for Project and Scientists in Technical Assistants for one year as per the following qualification, to be recruited purely on temporary/contractual basis in the scheme “Augmentation of Aviation Meteorological Services” under XI Plan Projects of IMD. Persons recruited under this scheme would get an opportunity to work on up-gradation and augmentation of existing aviation meteorological services to global standard.
 
1. Project Scientist :
No of Post : 05 posts,
Scale of Pay : Rs. 40000/- (fixed) Per month.
Age Limit : Not Exceeding 64 Yrs.
Essential Qualification & Experience : Master’s Degree in Atmospheric Sciences/ Physics / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science or equivalent OR Bachelor Degree in Engineering / Technology in Electronic / Communication / Instrumentation / Computer Sciences from a recognized University/Institute or equivalent.
Desirable : Doctorate Degree in related field of Science or Masters Degree in the related field of Engineering/Technology.

2. Technical Assistants :
No of Post : 02 posts,
Scale of Pay : Rs. 20000/- (fixed) Per month.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 62 years.
Essential Qualification & Experience : Master’s Degree in Atmospheric Sciences/ Physics / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science or equivalent OR Bachelor Degree in Engineering / Technology in Electronic / Communication / Instrumentation/ Computer Sciences from a recognized University/Institute or equivalent.
Desirable : Doctorate Degree in related field of Science or Masters Degree in the related field of Engineering/Technology.
