Indian Council of Historical Research, ICHR, Applications on prescribed format are invited for recruitment to the following posts. I. Deputy Director (Accounts) :
No of post : 01 post,
Age Limit : Not exceeding 56 years as on 31.03.2011.
Scale of Pay : RS. 15600 to 39100 Plus Grade Pay RS. 6600/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : (a) Bachelor’s degree of a recognized University. (b) Audit / Accounts Officer or Assistant Audit Officer with 5 years service from Audit and Accounts Department are eligible for deputation.

II. Deputy Director (Journal) :
No of post : 01 post,
Scale of Pay : RS. 15600 to 39100 Plus Grade Pay RS. 6600/- per month.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 40 years as on 31.03.2011.
Essential Qualification & Experience : (a) A Doctorate degree in History or research work of an equally high standard. (b) 5 years experience in teaching/research with published papers in reputed journals.

III. Assistant Director (Editor) :
No of post : 02 posts,
Essential Qualification & Experience : (a) At least 2nd class MA in History /Pol. Science / Economics. (b) 2 years experience of research and editing. (c) Proficiency in English.
Desirable :- Experience of book production/proof reading.
Scale of Pay : RS. 9300 to 34800 Plus Grade Pay RS. 5400/- per month.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 35 years as on 31.03.2011.

IV. Assistant Director (Research) :
No of post : 02 posts,
Essential Qualification & Experience : At least second class Master’s degree preferably in History, if not 2nd class Masters degree in Pol. Sc. Or Economics with 5 years teaching or research experience or Ph.D. degree in History, Pol. Sc. or Economics with 3 years teaching or research experience.
Scale of Pay : RS. 15600 to 39100 Plus Grade Pay RS. 5400/- per month.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 35 years as on 31.03.2011.

V. Caretaker :
No of post : 01 post,
Essential Qualification & Experience : At least second class Master’s degree preferably in History, if not 2nd class Masters degree in Pol. Sc. Or Economics with 5 years teaching or research experience or Ph.D. degree in History, Pol. Sc. or Economics with 3 years teaching or research experience.
Scale of Pay : RS. 5200 to 20200 Plus Grade Pay RS. 2800/- per month.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 28 years as on 31.03.2011

VI. Stenographer :
No of post : 02 posts,
Essential Qualification & Experience : (a) Matriculate or equivalent (b) Minimum Speed shorthand 80 wpm, Translation time – 50 minutes (on computer)
Scale of Pay : RS. 5200 to 20200 Plus Grade Pay RS. 2400/- per month.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 28 years as on 31.03.2011.

VII. Editorial Assistant :
No of post : 01 post,
Essential Qualification & Experience : (a) Master’s degree in Art preferable in History or BA with History as one of the subjects plus 2 years experience of editing in a publishing house.
(b) Proficiency in English.
Scale of Pay : RS. 9300 to 34800 Plus Grade Pay RS. 4200/- per month.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 35 years as on 31.03.2011.

VIII. Assistant :
No of post : 01 post,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with five years experience in a Govt./Semi-Govt. organization or a Public Sector Undertaking /autonomous
organization dealing with establishment matter and /or accounts.
Scale of Pay : RS. 9300 to 34800 Plus Grade Pay RS. 4200/- per month.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 28 years as on 31.03.2011.

IX. Accounts Clerk (For North-Eastern Regional Centre, Guwahati) :
No of post : 01 post,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Graduate in Arts, Science or Commerce from any recognized University.
Desirable: At least 3yrs experience in Cash or Accounts matters.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 28 years as on 31.03.2011.
