Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, TIFR, Applications are invited for the following posts tenable at Mumbai & Ootacamund, Tamil Nadu. post : Scientific Officer (C), Project Scientific Assistant (B). Outstation candidates called for interview for the above posts will be paid single Second Class return train fare for the journey by the shortest route from the nearest railway station of their place of residence to the place of interview on the production of photocopies of onward and return journey tickets.

1. Scientific Officer (C) :
No of post : 01 post (UR)
Age Limit : Below 28 years.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100/- per month + Grade Pay Rs. 5400/-
Essential Qualification & Experience : M.Sc. in Physics with minimum 60% marks.1 to 2 years experience in Monte Carlo simulations, Linux Operating System, operation of large computer farms & servers.
Job Requirement : System Manager for GRAPES – 3 computer farm, mail server and running of large Monte Carlo simulations programs.

2. Project Scientific Assistant (B) :
No of post : 01 post (UR)
Age Limit : Not to exceed 28 years.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 26,000/- /- per month.
Essential Qualification : SSC / HSC and Diploma in Electronics / Telecommunication / Electrical / Industrial Electronics with minimum 60% marks OR B.Sc. with Physics / Electronics with minimum 60% marks OR Equivalent from a reputed university.
Experience Desirable : (i) Must have atleast 6 months experience on analog and digital circuit testing or designing. (ii) Experience in PCB layout.
Job Description : To work on Astrosat Payloads, candidates have to work at field stations of TIFR, DAE and ISRO for prolonged periods.
