Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, WIHG, is an autonomous research organization of Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, undertaking advance level of research in all aspects of geology and geodynamics of the Himalaya. It has strong specialization in the areas of Petrology and Geochemistry, Structure and Tectonics, Sedimentology, Geomorphology, Paleoclimatology, Glaciology, Magnetostratigraphy, Biostratigraphy, Paleontology, Quaternary Geology, Environmental Geology, Seismology and Remote Sensing. The Institute also houses advance analytical laboratories. To encourage young students / researchers to make career in Earth Sciences, the Institute has doctoral program and offers Research Associateships to fresh Ph.D. students. To promote research in emerging areas of Earth Sciences, the institute also undertakes sponsored projects. The Institute invites applications from eligible Indian citizens.

1. Scientist ‘D’ :
No of post : 02 Posts
Age Limit : Not more than 45 years.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100/- Plus Grade Pay Rs. 7600/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : Ph.D with four years post doctoral experience or M.Sc. or M.Tech.

2. Scientist ‘B’ :
No of post : 08 Posts
Age Limit : Not more than 35 years.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100/- Plus Grade Pay Rs. 5400/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : M.Sc. in Geology/ Geophysics/ Physics/ Chemistry/ relevant subjects.

3. Artist cum Modeler :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Not more than 28 years.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 5200 to 20000/- Plus Grade Pay Rs. 2800/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : B. Sc. or Diploma in Engineering /Tech. of minimum 03 years duration.

4. Technical Assistant :
No of post : 02 Posts
Age Limit : Not more than 28 years.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 5200 to 20000/- Plus Grade Pay Rs. 2000/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : B. Sc. or Diploma in Engineering /Tech. of minimum 03 years duration & Knowledge of Computer.

5. Draftsman :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Not more than 28 years.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 5200 to 20000/- Plus Grade Pay Rs. 2400/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : Matriculation (10th) Passed & ITI Trade Certificate.

6. Field cum Lab Attendant :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Not more than 25 years.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 5200 to 20000/- Plus Grade Pay Rs. 1800/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : High School Examination Passed & Knowledge of Computer.

Selection Process : The Selection process will be made on the basis of interview & Written Test.
