North East Institute of Science and Technology, NEIST, a constituent establishment of CSIR, an Autonomous organization under the Government of India, is an advanced multidisciplinary laboratory having research areas like Medicinal Chemistry, Natural Products Chemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Medicinal, Aromatic and Economic Plants, Geosciences, Petroleum & Natural Gas, Applied Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, General
Engineering, Cellulose Pulp & Paper, Material Science, Coal, Electronics and Instrumentation etc. The Institute is equipped with sophisticated state-of-art analytical and other equipments, lab and pilot facilities to carry out research activities in frontier areas of science. The Director North East Institute of Science and Technology, Jorhat invites application from Indian nationals who are young dynamic, self motivated, talented and experienced with leadership qualities for the under mentioned posts.
 
I. Scientist in Gr IV – 2 :
No of Post : 05 posts,
Pay of Scale : Rs. 15600 to 39100 grade pay Rs. 6600/-,
Age Limit : 35 years as on 12.04.2010.
Essential Qualification & Experience : 1st Class MSc in Inorganic /Organic/Geochemistry Or 1st Class B.Tech. (Chemical /Mineral Engineering) from a recognised University/Institute or equivalent with three years experience Or ME/M Tech. (Chemical Engineering/Clean Coal & Energy Technology /Fuel Engineering from a recognised University / Institute with 2 Yrs experience. Or PhD (Science)/ PhD (Engg.) in relevant subject with 1 year experience.

II. Scientist in Gr IV – 1 :
No of Post : 12 posts,
Pay of Scale : Rs. 15600 to 39100 grade pay Rs. 5400/-,
Age Limit : 35 years as on 12.04.2010.
Essential Qualification & Experience : 1st Class MSc in Geophysics/ Physics with special paper in Electronics from a recognised University/Institute. Or PhD in the relevant Subject.

III. Technical Gr.III – 1 :
No of Post : 02 posts,
Pay of Scale : Rs. 9300 to 34800 grade pay Rs. 4200/-,
Age Limit : 28 years as on 12.04.2010.
Essential Qualification & Experience : 1st Class Bachelors Degree in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry from a recognised University/Institute or equivalent.
