Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences & Technology, SKUAST, named after great patriotic leader Jenab Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah (popularly known as Sher-e-Kashmir) was established in the year 1982 through an Act passed by the State Legislature in the 33rd year of the Republic of India with its jurisdiction over the entire State of Jammu & Kashmir with its headquarter at Shalimar, Srinagar. With the SKUAST Act in force, the agricultural education, research and extension training units were transferred to SKUAST from various development departments viz; Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and Sericulture of Jammu & Kashmir State. Applications on prescribed forms are invited for the following positions :
 
I. Director Resident Instruction-cum-Dean Post-graduate Studies : No of Post : 01 post,
Scale of Pay : 37400 to 67000 with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 10000 + Special Pay of Rs. 400/-,
II. Dean :
No of Post : 02 posts,
Scale of Pay : 37400 to 67000 with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 10000/-,
III. Associate Professor/Sr. Scientist :
No of Post : 03 posts,
Scale of Pay : Rs. 12000 to 18300/-,
IV. Assistant Professor/Junior Scientist  and equivalent :
No of Post : 11 posts,
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100 grade pay Rs. 6000/-,
