Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, WIHG, Dehra Dun invites applications for the Scientist undermentioned posts in the Institute of Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology:-
1. Scientist – D :
No of Post : 01 post,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Doctorate degree in the relevant field with eight years post doctoral experience with adequate evidence of research publications of merit and leadership in the areas of palaeontology/ micropalaeontology, sedimentology, structure & tectonics and stable isotope geochemistry. The candidates with demonstrated experience in
maintaining / operating stable isotope mass spectrometer or any other modern analytical geoscience laboratories will be given preference.
Scale of Pay : PB – 3 Rs. 15,600 to 39,100 + Grade Pay Rs. 7,600.00/- per month.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 45 years as on 31.03.2011.
2. Scientist – C :
No of Post : 02 posts,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Ph.D. degree in the relevant field with four years research experience at post-doctorate level in the areas of structure & tectonics, palaeontology / micropalaeontology, paleobotany, sedimentology and glaciology, as evidenced by research publications of merit. The candidates with demonstrated experience in maintaining / operating EPMA, Mass Spectrometers or any modern analytical geoscience laboratories will be given preference.
Scale of Pay : PB-3 Rs. 15,600 to 39,100 + Grade Pay Rs. 6,600.00/- per month.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 40 years as on 31.03.2011.
3. Scientist – B :
No of Post : 03 posts,
Essential Qualification & Experience : First class M.Sc. degree in Geology. Preference will be given to the candidates with experience in any one or more of the fields listed above for the post of Scientist ‘C’.
Desirable qualifications : 1. Three years experience or Ph. D. Degree in the relevant discipline 2. Knowledge of computer languages and numerical method.
Scale of Pay : PB-3 Rs. 15,600 to 39,100 + Grade Pay Rs. 5,400.00/- per month.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 35 years as on 31.03.2011.
