Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, WIHG, Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens up to 29.11.2013 for appointment for the following posts in the Institute:- Posts : Scientist, Senior Personal Assistant, Stenographer, Section Cutter, Lower Division Clerk, Field-cum-Lab-Attendant, Bearer

1. Scientist ‘D’ :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Not exceeding 45 years as on the date of advertisement.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100/- per month Plus Grade Pay Rs. 7600/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Doctoral degree in Paleoclimatology, Stable Isotope geochemistry, Mass Spectrometry, Aquous Geochemistry, Igneous Petrology, Structure & Tectonics, Sedimentology, Mathematical modeling of climate / tectonics / glaciers, Computational Seismology with M.Sc. or M.Tech or M.Phil in Geology/ Geophysics/ Physics/ Chemistry with 1st Division in M.Sc. and eight years of post doctoral experience with outstanding research publications of merit and leadership in the areas.

2. Scientist ‘D’ (Lien vacancy) :

Age Limit : Not exceeding 45 years as on the date of advertisement.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100/- per month Plus Grade Pay Rs. 7600/-,

Essential Qualification & Experience : First class in M.E./M.Tech. in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation or combination any two. Or First class B.E./ B.Tech. in Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation or combination of any two with two years experience in handling/maintenance & repair of scientific equipment / instruments.
Desirable qualification : Ph.D in the relevant discipline.

4. Scientist ‘C’ (Lien vacancy) :

Age Limit : Not exceeding 40 years as on the date of advertisement.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100/- per month Plus Grade Pay Rs. 6600/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : First class in M.E./M.Tech. in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation or combination of any two. Or First class B.E./ B.Tech. in Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation or combination of any two with
two years experience in handling/maintenance & repair of scientific equipment / instruments.
Desirable qualification : Ph.D in the relevant discipline.

5. Scientist ‘B’ :
No of post : 02 Posts
Age Limit : Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of advertisement.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100/- per month Plus Grade Pay Rs. 5400/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : First class in M.E./M.Tech. in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation or combination of any two. Or First class B.E./ B.Tech. in Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation or combination of any two with two years experience in handling /maintenance & repair of scientific equipment / instruments.
Desirable qualification : Ph.D in the relevant discipline.

6. Scientist ‘B’ (Lien vacancy) :

Age Limit : Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of advertisement.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100/- per month Plus Grade Pay Rs. 5400/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : First class in M.E./M.Tech. in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation or combination of any two. Or First class B.E./ B.Tech. in Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation or combination of any two with two years experience in handling/maintenance & repair of scientific equipment / instruments.
Desirable qualification : Ph.D in the relevant discipline.

7. Senior Personal Assistant :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of advertisement.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 9300 to 34800/- per month Plus Grade Pay Rs. 4600/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : (1) Graduate of a recognized University and possessing a speed of 120 w.p.m. in shorthand and 40 w.p.m. in typing. (2) Experience in stenography work: 8 years in the pay scale of PB-1: Rs. 5,200-20,200 + Rs. 2,800/- G.P. or 5 years in the pay scale of PB-2: Rs. 9,300-34,800 + Rs. 4,200/- G.P. or equivalent.

8. Stenographer, Gr. II :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Not exceeding 28 years as on the date of advertisement.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 9300 to 34800/- per month Plus Grade Pay Rs. 4200/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Graduate of a recognized University or equivalent and possessing a speed of 120 w.p.m. in English shorthand and 40 w.p.m. in typing.

9. Section Cutter :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Not exceeding 28 years as on the date of advertisement.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 9300 to 34800/- per month Plus Grade Pay Rs. 1900/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : High School with two years experience in the relevant field.

10. Lower Division Clerk :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Betwen 18 to 27 years as on the date of advertisement.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 9300 to 34800/- per month Plus Grade Pay Rs. 1900/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : (1) Intermediate or equivalent. (2) English typing speed of 35 w.p.m. or Hindi typing speed of 30 w.p.m. on computer. (Time allowed – 10 mts.) (35 w.p.m./ 30 w.p.m. correspond to 10,500 KDPH / 9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depression for each word)
Desirable qualification : (1) Graduate. (2) A Government of India recognized diploma / certificate in computer.

11. Field-cum-Lab-Attendant :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Not exceeding 25 years as on the date of advertisement.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 9300 to 34800/- per month Plus Grade Pay Rs. 1800/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : High School
Desirable Qualifications : Computer Knowledge.

12. Bearer :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Not exceeding 25 years as on the date of advertisement.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 9300 to 34800/- per month Plus Grade Pay Rs. 1800/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Matriculation or equivalent.
Desirable qualification : Experience of working in Govt. office / Autonomous bodies etc.
