The Indian Coast Guard, Special Recruitment Drive for Assistant Commandant Commercial Pilot License (CPL) for Short Service Appointment and Assistant Commandant (Technical) Engineering/Electrical an armed force of the Union, offers a challenging and inspiring career as Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officer, Applications are invited from from male/female candidates to join as Assistant Commandant Indian citizens for the following posts: 

1. Assistant Commandant GD – Commercial Pilot License Entry, (Male/ Unmarried Female) : Commercial Pilot License (CPL) holders for Short Service Appointment for period of 8 years which may be extended to 10 years and may be further extended up to 14 years by the competent authority,
Essential Qualification : 12th pass or equivalent and possess current Commercial Pilot License (CPL), Age Limit : beorn between 01 July 1983 to 30 June 1991.
Height in cms. : Minimum 162 cms and maximum 197 cms, leg length 99 cms.
Weight : Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10 % acceptable.
Chest : Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cms.
Eye Sight :  Asst Commandant Pilot entry for Commercial Pilot License (CPL) holder for short service appointment – 6/6(Both Eyes) without glasses.

2. Assistant Commandant Technical Branch (Male only (Engineering) :
Essential Qualification : (i) Degree in Naval Architecture/ Marine Mechanical/ Electrical/ Tele-communication & Electronic/ Design/ Production/ Aeronautical/ Control (Electrical) Engineering or equivalent.
(ii) Possession of Certificate of Competency by Govt. of India, Ministry of Surface Transport as 1st class Engineer of Motorship or other similiar certificate OR
(iii) Possession of final exam certificate of the College of Marine Engineering under Department of Surface Transport, Government of India OR
(iv) Have passed Section A & B of Institute of Engineers (India) examination in any of the disciplines listed above,
Age Limit : Born between 01 July 1980 to 30 June 1989.
Height in cms. : 157 cms minimum, may be reduced by 5 cms in the case of Gorkhas, Nepalese, Assamese( including those from Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura) Garhwal, Sikkim, Local tribes of A & N islands and 2 cms in case of candidates from Lakshadweep, mainland settlers in Andaman and Nicobar.
Weight :  Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10 % acceptable.
Chest : Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cms.
Eye Sight :  Asst Commandant  (Tech)  – 6/12 (Good Eye) and 6/36 (Bad Eye).

Under Postal Certificate (UPC) only. so as to reach on or before 20.06.2009 (23.06.2009 for candidates from far-flung areas). Attested copies of certificate of age, caste of the candidate, educational qualification including statement of marks, NCC, sports and self addressed unstamped envelope of size 25 x 10 cm are to be attached with the application.
