The Union Public Service Commission, UPSC, “Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069″

The Union Public Service Commission, UPSC, will hold a written Examination on 11th October 2009 for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Police Forces (CPF) viz BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP and SSB. The Examination will be held in accordance with the Rules for the Examination published by Ministry of Home Affairs in the Gazette of India. 

Assistant Commandants (Group A): 593 posts (BSF-388, CRPF-114, CISF-89, ITBP-1, SSB-1),
Age Limit: Not less than 20 years and not more than 25 years as on 1st August, 2009.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree of any recognised university or an equivalent qualification.
Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in notice. Both male and female candidates are eligible for appointment to CRPF and CISF. However, only male candidates are eligible for appointment to BSF, ITBP and SSB.
Selection Procedure: written examination to be conducted by the UPSC followed by Physcial Standards/ Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Standards Test to be conducted by the Miistry of Home Affairs and the Personality Test/ Interview to be condusted by UPSC. Possession of NCC B or C Certificate will be given consideration at the time of Interview/ Personality Test only.
Minimum Educational Qualifications : A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University.

Fees: Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) through a single Central Recruitment Fee Stamp. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes are not required to pay any fee. No fee exemption is, however, available to OBC Candidates.
