National Institute of Epidemiology, NIE, Applications are invited in the prescribed format (attached) from the eligible departmental candidates and persons working / who have worked on long term projects of ICMR for the posts of Lower Division Clerk, Technician-A and Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) at National Institute of Epidemiology, Chennai (Tamil Nadu).

1. Lower Division Clerk :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Between 18 and 27 years of age. Upper age limit is relaxable upto a maximum of 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST and 10 years for Persons With Disability (PWD)
Scale of Pay : Rs. 5200-20200/- Grade Pay Rs. 1900/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : 12th Class or equivalent qualification from the recognized Board or University. A typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English on computer. (35 w.p.m. correspond to 10500 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word).

2. Staff Car Driver :
No of post : 04 Posts
Age Limit : Not exceeding 25 years as on the last date of receipt of application.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 5200-20200/- Grade Pay Rs. 1900/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : Matric / S.S.C. or equivalent from a recognized board with valid driving license issued by R.T.O. of any State and authorized to drive Light Motor Vehicle (Goods & Passenger) and Two Wheeler with/without Gear and two years Experience in recognized organization / Institute. Preference will be given to those who have license other than above to drive Heavy Motor Vehicle ( Goods & Passenger) and Three Wheelers (Auto Rickshaw).

3. Technician-A (Engineering Support) Electrician (1 post-Un-Reserved):
No of post : (01 post-Un-Reserved)
Age Limit : Between 18 to 28 years as on the last date of receipt of the application.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 5200-20200/- Grade Pay Rs. 1900/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : 10th Pass / Matric / Equivalent with ITI/National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) and successful completion of All India Trade Test (ATS) in the Electrical from a Govt. recognized Board or Institute.

4. Technician – A – Laboratory Division :
No of post : 01 Post (Other Backward Class)
Age Limit : Between 18 to 28 years as on the last date of receipt of the application.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 5200-20200/- Grade Pay Rs. 1900/- per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : 10th or equivalent from a recognized board with one year certificate / diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or one year Laboratory experience working in a Govt. Laboratory / Govt. recognized Institution.

A Demand Draft for Rs. 100/- in favour of The Director, National Institute of Epidemiology payable at Chennai. SC/ST, Physically Handicapped and Women candidates are exempted from the payment of application fee.
