The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited, WBPDCL, a Government of West Bengal Enterprise, engaged in the business of Generation of Electricity in the State of West Bengal, invites applications from Indian Nationals to fill-up the following positions for its Corporate Office and Power Stations / Projects located at different places across West Bengal. post : Trainee – Operator Technician, Assistant Sub-Inspector Security, Nurse cum Midwife, Security Officer, Stenographer, Medical Officer, Assistant Teacher, Assistant Manager IT, Assistant Manager Legal, Librarian, Pharmacist, Radiographer, Laboratory Technician

1. Trainee – Operator / Technician :
No of post : 175 posts (Fitter – 88, Electrician – 87)
Age Limit : 26 yrs as on 01.04.2013 for General category candidates. Age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD candidates. Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen applicants shall be applicable as per norms.
Scale of Pay : Pay Band Rs. 6300 to 20200/- month with Grade Pay Rs. 2600/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : At least 50% marks in Madhyamik or equivalent examination and Trade Certificate (ITI) under NCVT from any recognized Industrial Training Institute in the trade of Fitter / Electrician (2yrs duration)respectively. Part time courses / courses undertaken through Distance mode / sandwich courses shall not be considered.

2. Assistant Sub-Inspector (Security) :
No of post : 36 posts
Age Limit: 35 years as on 01.04.2013 for General category candidates including applicable relaxation for Ex-Serviceman.Age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC / ST, 03 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD candidates. Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen applicants shall be applicable as per norms.
Scale of Pay : Pay Band Rs. 6300 to 20200/- month with Grade Pay Rs. 2600/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with at least 5 (five) years service in Defense / Para-Military service. Experience in Industrial Security in a responsible position at any organisation of repute will be preferred. Part time courses / courses undertaken through Distance mode / sandwich courses shall not be considered.

3. Nurse cum Midwife :
No of post : 09 posts
Age Limit: 30 yrs as on 01.04.2013 for General category candidates. Age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC / ST, 03 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD candidates. Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen applicants shall be applicable as per norms.
Scale of Pay : Pay Band Rs. 6300 to 20200/- month with Grade Pay Rs. 2600/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Higher Secondary / equivalent and having Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery from an institute recognized by the Indian / West Bengal Nursing Council and having registration with the West Bengal Nursing Council. 01 (One) yr working experience in OT and inpatient department will be preferred. Part time courses / courses undertaken through Distance mode / degrees from Open Universities / sandwich courses shall not be considered.

4. Security Officer :
No of post : 05 posts
Age Limit: 35 years as on 01.04.2013 for General category candidates including applicable relaxation for Ex-Serviceman.Age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC / ST and 03 years for OBC candidates.
Scale of Pay : Pay Band Rs. 15600 to 39100/- month with Grade Pay Rs. 5400/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Graduate in any discipline from any institution / university recognized by the UGC with at least 5 yrs service in Defense / Para Military service / Short Service Commission not below the rank of
Lieutenant / Assistant Commandant. Experience in Industrial security in a responsible position at any organisation of repute will be preferred. Part time courses / courses undertaken through Distance mode / degrees from Open Universities / sandwich courses shall not be considered.

5. Stenographer :
No of post : 15 posts
Age Limit: 30 yrs as on 01.04.2013 for General category candidates. Age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC / ST, 03 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD candidates. Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen applicants shall be applicable as per norms.
Scale of Pay : Pay Band Rs. 6300 to 20200/- month with Grade Pay Rs. 3600/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Graduate in any discipline from any institution / university recognized by the UGC with at least 50 % marks, having proficiency in English language. Candidates must knowthe operations of MS Office and must have minimum speed of 100 words per minute in shorthand with Computer key depression speed of at least 8000 per hour. Knowledge of typing in Bengali font will be considered as an added qualification. Candidates having graduated through distance education mode / Open University shall not be considered.

6. Medical Officer :
No of post : 02 posts
Age Limit: 35 years as on 01.04.2013 for ST candidates and 33 years as on 01.04.2013 for OBC (A) candidates.
Scale of Pay : Pay Band Rs. 15600 to 39100/- month with Grade Pay Rs. 5400/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : MBBS from any institute of repute recognized by the Medical Council of India, having completed 01(one) year internship. Preference shall be given to candidates having 01(one) year experience of House Staff ship in Medicine / Cardiology / Pediatrics / Child Care.

7. Assistant Teacher :
No of post : 19 posts
Age Limit: 30 yrs as on 01.04.2013 for General category candidates. Age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC / ST, 03 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD candidates. Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen applicants shall be applicable as per norms.
Scale of Pay : i. Pay Band Rs. 9000 to 40500/- month with Grade Pay Rs. 4800/- (for Post Graduate candidates)
ii. Pay Band Rs. 9000 to 40500/- month with Grade Pay Rs. 4700/- (for Honours Graduate candidates)
Essential Qualification & Experience : Honours graduate in respective discipline / subject from any institution / university recognized by the UGC with at least 50% marks in Honours subject at graduate level having either of the desired pass subjects as mentioned against each below (refer Table) along with Degree in Bachelor of Education (B. Ed). Candidates applying as post graduates must have also secured 50% at Post graduate level in the respective discipline.

8. Assistant Manager (Information Technology – IT) :
No of post : 22 posts
Age Limit: 26 yrs as on 01.04.2013. Age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC / ST, 03 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD candidates.
Scale of Pay : Pay Band Rs. 15600 to 39100/- month with Grade Pay Rs. 5400/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : B.E. / B.Tech (4 Yrs fulltime) in Computer Science or Information Technology from any recognised University or reputed Institute approved by AICTE.

9. Assistant Manager (Legal) :
No of post : 01 post
Age Limit: 33 years as on 01.04.2013 for SC category candidates.
Scale of Pay : Pay Band Rs. 15600 to 39100/- month with Grade Pay Rs. 5400/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Graduate with LLB from any institution / University recognized by the UGC / AICTE and approved by the Bar Council of India having 2 yrs post qualification experience or more as legal practitioner or as an officer in a large reputed Industry / institute / legal firm / commercial house etc. in handling labour / industrial / civil / criminal / taxation / service matter and dealing / drafting contract matters or in judicial service.

10. Radiographer :
No of post : 03 posts
Age Limit: 30 years as on 01.04.2013. Age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC / ST and 03 years for OBC candidates.
Scale of Pay : Pay Band Rs. 6300 to 20200/- month with Grade Pay Rs. 3600/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Higher Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from WBHSE or equivalent with 2 years Diploma in Radiography (Diagnostics) / DRD (Tech.) recognised by the Govt. of West Bengal OR Postgraduate diploma in Radiography (Diagnostics) / DRD (Tech.) from any recognised university. Preferencewill be given to candidates having 01 (one) year experience in any Hospital or in a clinical establishment

12. Laboratory Technician :
No of post : 02 posts
Age Limit: 30 years as on 01.04.2013. Age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC / ST and 03 years for OBC candidates.
Scale of Pay : Pay Band Rs. 6300 to 20200/- month with Grade Pay Rs. 3600/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Higher Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or equivalent and 2 year diploma course in Laboratory technology from any institute or University recognised by the UGC or B.Sc from recognised university with 1 year Diploma course in Laboratory Technology recognised by the Government of West Bengal. Preference will be given to candidates having 01 (one) year experience in any Hospital or in a clinical establishment.

13. Librarian :
No of post : 01 post
Age Limit: 30 years as on 01.04.2013. Age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC / ST and 03 years for OBC candidates.
Scale of Pay : Pay Band Rs. 7000 to 37600/- month with Grade Pay Rs. 3900/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Graduate with Degree / Diploma in Library Science from a Govt. recognised University / Institute.

14. Pharmacist :
No of post : 01 post
Scale of Pay : Pay Band Rs. 6300 to 20200/- month with Grade Pay Rs. 3600/-,
Age Limit: 30 years as on 01.04.2013 for SC category candidates.
Essential Qualification & Experience : Higher Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or equivalent and 2 year diploma course in Pharmacy recognised by the Govt. of West Bengal and registered as ‘A’ category Pharmacist under the West Bengal Pharmacy Council / Pharmacy Council of India. Preference will be given to candidates having 01 (one) year experience in any Hospital or in a clinical establishment.
