National physical Laboratory, NPL, Desires to have qualified incumbents for purely temporary positions of “Research Associate, Senior Research Fellow, Senior Research Fellow (Extended), Junior Research Fellow, and Project Assistant Level – IV, III & II” under the various ongoing externally funded & time targeted sponsored projects and Research Interns under “CSIR Diamond Jubilee Research Intern Award Scheme” The total duration for which Project Assistant could be engaged will be five years. Where the duration of the Sponsored/Consultancy Project is less than 5 years, the services will be coterminus with the duration of the project.
 
i. Senior Research fellow (SRF)/ Research Associates : 03 posts, Age Limit: Should not more than 32 years as on 20.08.2009./Research Associates : Age Limit: Should not more than 35 years as on 20.08.2009. Essential Qualification & Experience: M.Sc. (Physics) with 60% marks and at least 02 years post M.Sc. research experience. Research Associates – Ph.D. (Physics).
ii. Junior Research Fellow (JRF) : 01 post, Age Limit: Should not more than 28 years as on 20.08.2009. Essential Qualification & Experience: M.Sc. (Physics) with 60% marks and passing of NET.
iii. Project Assistant Level-II : 11 posts, Age Limit: Should not more than 28 years as on 20.08.2009. Essential Qualification & Experience: 1st Class M.Sc. (Physics).
iv. Project Assistant Level-III : 04 posts, Age Limit: Should not more than 32 years as on 20.08.2009. Essential Qualification & Experience: 1st Class M.Tech./M.E. (Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation).
v. Project Assistant Level-IV : 04 posts, Age Limit: Should not more than 35 years as on 20.08.2009. Essential Qualification & Experience: Ph.D. (Physics/Instrumentation/Materials).
vi. Research Intern : 08 posts, Age Limit: Should not more than 25 years as on 20.08.2009. Essential Qualification & Experience: 1st Class M.Sc. in Chemistry.
