Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute, CMERI established in 1958, The Institute is also offering 2 years Post-Graduate degree in Mechatronics in collaboration with Bengal Engineering and Science University, Sibpur and other CSIR Institutes. The present priority areas of research of the institute are: Robotics and Mechatronics, Microsystem Technology, Rapid Prototyping and Modeling, Clean Energy, Farm Machineries, Residual Life Enhancement, and Advanced Mechanical Design and Manufacturing. A Walk-in-interview / test will be conducted in the Committee Room of CMERI, dated on 22nd – 24th April, 2009 to select candidates for engagement as ‘Project Assistant’ under various Institute/externally funded projects.

Project Assistant:
1. Project No. GAP-151612: 01 post, Qualification: 1st Class BE/B.Tech. in Electronics/Computer Science Engg. or equivalent or 1st Class MCA. Desirable : Experience / knowledge in Micro controller Design / Programming in VC++ etc. Interfacing of Hardwares. Tenure: For 01 years only. Maximum Age Limit: Should not more than 28 years. Pay Scale: Consolidated Stipend per month Rs. 10000 only.
2. Project No. GAP-151612 Post code P0102: 01 post, Qualification: 1st Class B.Sc.in Mathematics /1st Class Diploma in Mechanical Engg. / Electronics / Computer Science of 3 years fulltime duration or its equivalent. Desirable : Knowledge of Computer skills, MS office, programming etc. Tenure: For 01 years only. Maximum Age Limit: Should not more than 28 years. Pay Scale: Consolidated Stipend per month Rs. 7000 only.
3. SIP – 24: 01 post, Qualification: 1st Class BE/B.Tech. in Computer Science or 1st Class MCA with VC++ Programming for data communication using Windows socket programming, serial port programming, Proficiency in System Integration, use of third party dlls and Drivers etc. Desirable : Programming in MATLAB, Knowledge of Robotics & Mechatronics, 1-2 Year Experience is preferred. Tenure: For 03 years only. Maximum Age Limit: Should not more than 28 years. Pay Scale: Consolidated Stipend per month Rs. 10000 only.
4. NWP-0030/02: 01 post, Qualification: 1st Class Diploma in Mechanical Engg. of 3 years fulltime duration or its equivalent. Desirable : Experience in any CAD package. Tenure: For 02 years only. Maximum Age Limit: Should not more than 28 years. Pay Scale: Consolidated Stipend per month Rs. 7000 only.
5. NWP-0030/02 Post code P0105: 01 post, Qualification: 1st Class B. Sc. in Physics /Chemistry. Desirable : Preference will be given for the experience in laser systems / instruments. Tenure: For 02 years only. Maximum Age Limit: Should not more than 28 years. Pay Scale: Consolidated Stipend per month Rs. 7000 only.
6. NWP-0030/07: 01 post, Qualification: 1st Class Diploma in Mechanical Engg. of 3 years fulltime duration or its equivalent. Desirable : Experience in any CAD package. Tenure: For 02 years only. Maximum Age Limit: Should not more than 28 years. Pay Scale: Consolidated Stipend per month Rs. 7000 only.
7. NWP-0030/07 post code P0107: 01 post, Qualification: 1st Class BE/ B.Tech in Mechanical /Manufacturing /Production Engg. Desirable : 1. One Year plus experience in 3D CAD modeling. 2. One or two years experience machine tool design. Tenure: For 02 years only. Maximum Age Limit: Should not more than 28 years. Pay Scale: Consolidated Stipend per month Rs. 10000 only.
8. NWP-0030/07 post code P0108: 01 post, Qualification: 1st Class BE/ B.Tech in Computer Science /Electronics Engg. With two years research experience in any research institutions or Universities. Or 1st Class ME/M.Tech in Computer Science/Electronics. Desirable : Preference will be given to the candidates who have one year plus working experience in Lab-view, system integration related to machine tools and mechanical systems. Tenure: For 02 years only. Maximum Age Limit: Should not more than 30 years. Pay Scale: Consolidated Stipend per month Rs. 12000 only.
9. NWP-30/3: 01 post, Qualification: 1st Class B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engg. Desirable : Knowledge in Fluid Mechanics/CFD will be preferred. Tenure: For 02 years only. Maximum Age Limit: Should not more than 28 years. Pay Scale: Consolidated Stipend per month Rs. 10000 only.
10. NWP-30/3 post code po110: 01 post, Qualification: 1st Class Diploma in Mechanical Engg. of 3 years fulltime duration or its equivalent. Desirable : AUTOCAD drafting knowledge. Tenure: For 02 years only. Maximum Age Limit: Should not more than 28 years. Pay Scale: Consolidated Stipend per month Rs. 7000 only.
11. NWP-30/3 post code po111: 01 post, Qualification: 1st Class Diploma in Electronics Engg. of 3 years fulltime duration or its equivalent. Desirable : LABVIEW integration with DAQ and Sensors /Motors. Tenure: For 02 years only. Maximum Age Limit: Should not more than 28 years. Pay Scale: Consolidated Stipend per month Rs. 7000 only.

13. GAP-151412: 02 post, Qualification: 1st Class B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engg. Desirable : 1. Proficient knowledge in Mechanical Design and drafting. 2. Knowledge of at least one CAD and FEM software like solid works/Ideas/ANSYS/Pro-E/CATIA. 3. Knowledge of MATLAB and computational methods. Tenure: Till December 2009. Maximum Age Limit: Should not more than 28 years. Pay Scale: Consolidated Stipend per month Rs. 12000 only.
14. GAP-181612: 01 post, Qualification: 1st Class M. Sc. in Chemistry/Bio-technology/Bio-Chemistry. Tenure: For 02 years (Extendable). Maximum Age Limit: Should not more than 28 years. Pay Scale: Consolidated Stipend per month Rs. 10000 only.

The candidates who have already served in CMERI as a Trainee / Project Assistant / Project Fellow / JRF / SRF / Research Associate etc. for a period of 5 years or more are not eligible for the above engagements. The candidates who have served for a period less than 5 years, upon selection, their tenure will automatically end on completion of five years.
