A. DBT Sponsored project- Preventing extinction and improving conservation status of threatened plants through application of biotechnological. PI- Dr. S.K.Nandi, Scientist- “G”.
1. Junior Research Fellow :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Not exceeding 28 years.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 12,000 to 16,000/- per month + HRA as per Institute norms for the candidate qualified NET exam.
Essential Qualification & Experience : First class Master degree in Botany /Forestry / Chemistry / Biochemistry.

B. CSIR Sponsored project- Status Assessment of endemic, threatened and high value medicinal plants of cold desert areas in Indian Himalayan region. PI- Dr. K. Chandra Sekar, Scientist- “D”.
2. Field Assistant :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Not exceeding 28 years.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 7000/- (fixed per month)
Essential Qualification & Experience : Candidates must be Intermediate. Assist Researcher during field survey and plant collection from remote Indian Himalayan areas.

C. DST funded project: Runoff modeling and simulation of sediment load of Gangotri glacier systems. PI-Dr. Rajesh Joshi, Scientist – “D”
3. Junior Research Fellow :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Not exceeding 28 years.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 14,000 to 16,000/- per month + HRA as per Institute norms for the candidate qualified NET exam.
Essential Qualification & Experience : M.Sc. in Geology / Earth Science / Environmental Science / Remote Sensing & GIS/ GeoPhysics or M.Tech. with specialization in Soil Water Conservation / Irrigation & Drainage Engineering /
Hydraulic Engineering / Hydrology / Glaciology / Environmental Sc. & Engineering / Water resources / Geological & Geophysical Technology with minimum 55% marks.

D. DST funded project: Indicators of climate change in the context of Himalayan forest ecosystems among an environmental gradient. PI- Dr. G.C.S. Negi, Scientist-“E”
4. Junior Research / Project Fellow :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Not exceeding 28 years.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 12,000 to 16,000/- per month + HRA as per Institute norms for the candidate qualified NET exam.
Essential Qualification & Experience : First class Master degree in Forestry / Botany / Environmental Science / Agriculture with meteorology.

E. Earth watch India funded project: Assessment and quantification of forest ecosystem services with special emphasis on pollination in the Indian Himalayan agro-ecosystems. PI-Dr. G.C.S. Negi, Scientist-“E”.
5. JRF / SRF / Project Fellow :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : JRF 28 Years and for SRF 32 Years.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 12,000 to 14,000/- per month + HRA as per Institute norms for the candidate qualified NET exam.
Essential Qualification & Experience : First class Master degree in Forestry /Botany / Environmental Science / PG Diploma in Forest Management. Experience of work on forest ecology and forest ecosystem services in the Indian Himalayan region.

F. MoEF-SAC sponsored project: Glacier Studies in Kumaun Himalaya Phase II” Up to 2014-15. PI- Er. Kireet Kumar, Scientist-“G”
6. Junior Research Fellow :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Not exceeding 28 years.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 12,000 to 16,000/- per month + HRA as per Institute norms for the candidate qualified NET exam.
Essential Qualification & Experience : Master degree in physical Sciences /Geology or Geography / RS and GIS or Bachelor degree in Engineering in Civil / relevant branch(s) with good academic records with minimum 55% marks.

G. DST Project: “Geodynamic and Hydro chemical study of Gangotri Glacier” Up to 2016-17. PI- Er. Kireet Kumar, Scientist-“G”
7. Junior Research Fellow :
No of post : 02 Post
Age Limit : Not exceeding 28 years.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 12,000 to 16,000/- per month + HRA as per Institute norms for the candidate qualified NET exam.
Essential Qualification & Experience : Master degree in physical Sciences /Geology or Geography / RS and GIS or Bachelor degree in Engineering in Civil / relevant branch(s) with good academic records with minimum 55% marks.

8. Field Research Assistant :
No of post : 01 Post
Age Limit : Not exceeding 42 years.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 8,000/- fixed per month.
Essential Qualification & Experience : Graduate with II div. in Science /Geography with background up to 12th standard is preferable with 5 year experience Experience of working in high altitude areas / Glaciers.
