CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, is one of the National Institute under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research which is an Autonomous Body. It is located on a 250 acres of land with the backdrop of snow-covered peaks of Dhauladhar Range in salubrious climate. The Institute is engaged in research and technology development programmes for sustainable management of bioresources of the Himalayas. The Institute has successfully carried out mission-oriented projects on tea, temperate floriculture and aromatic plants and is well equipped for Tissue culture and Biotechnology. Facilities include Tea Processing Unit, FRP greenhouses and equipments like GC-MS, FT-IR, Ultrascan, Automated DNA sequencers, Phosphoimager, Q-TOF, XL Laser densitometer,HPLCs, MALDI-TOF,CONFOCAL MICROSCOPY, CO2 Extractor, FPLC, HP-TLC, IRGA, NMR, Scintillation counter, computer net working. post : Scientist, Senior Scientist

1. Senior Scientist :
No of post : 08 Posts ((04-UR, 01-SC, 01-ST, 01-0BC, 01-PH-UR)
Age Limit : Upper Age Limit not exceeding 37 years.
Scale of Pay : PB-3 Rs. 15600 to 39100/- per month + Grade Pay Rs. 7600/-
Essential Qualification & Experience : Ph.D. (Science) with two years experience PhD. (Engg.) M.E./M.Tech. with three years experience.

1. Scientist :
No of post : 01 Post (PWD Category-1)
Age Limit : Upper Age Limit not exceeding 32 years.
Scale of Pay : PB-3 Rs. 15600 to 39100/- per month + Grade Pay Rs. 6600/-
Essential Qualification & Experience : Ph. D. Submitted in Horticulture (specialist in Floriculture) / Floriculture. Ph.D. in Ecology / Forestry with two years experience in the survey and ecological studies in Himalayan zone as evident from publications in reputed journals.
Desirable: Experience in ecological studies of High Altitude areas of Himalayas.
